Dynamics of High Performance Teamwork™ |
|
Managing, leading and building a team is a key competence of most managers or team leaders. Leading and developing a high performance team is a far greater challenge, yet this produces the competitive advantage between teams. This programme focuses on the skills and techniques required for the facilitation, leadership and motivation of high performance teams. It includes management techniques for evaluating team performance as well as rewarding and recognizing team work.
High Performance Teamwork (HPT) is needed where high precision, competence and inter dependence are required. From fiction and movies HPT has become easily recognized – with Hollywood stars as their heroes and role models. They might include Mission Impossible, The 3 Muskateers, Robin Hood and The 'A' Team.
In real life they exist in a wide range of areas and might include examples from the Sciences and Arts, like An Astronaut Crew, The Red Arrows, A Circus Trapeze Group, A Rowing Eight, A 'Pit-Stop' Crew, A SWAT Team, A Jazz Band, A Choir, A Dance Group, An Orchestra or a A Yacht Crew.
HPT can be recognised by its high standards of excellence in both performance and results. We can divide these into behaviors. The, use of technology and the environment, which are each fully exploited. Emotions felt or displayed are very strong. High performers are highly motivated and celebrate with exuberance and joy. |

Dynamics of Leading Teams™ |
|
There has probably been more written about the topic of leadership, than any other subject in business or management. And, a more recent paradigm is to differentiate Leading from Managing. Sometimes we find people who are great managers, but not so good at leading, and vice-versa, people who are great leaders, but not so good at managing. This gives rise to the often asked question 'are leaders more born or developed".
Research shows that it can be both, but if the basic innate traits do not exist, then there is not enough raw materials to develop. Further studies show there is a strong, correlation between certain personality, traits and effective leadership.
That's personality - which is more 'inborn' – and to a great extent, style comes from this. However, culture is another major influence on style. There are some distinct differences between Asian and Western leadership styles.
There are some of the core issues that are addressed in this workshop. |

Dynamics of Working in Multicultural Teams™ |
|
In our culture, we know what type of thinking and communication styles or patterns form positive or negative impressions. More importantly we know which behaviour is best for the different people we relate with.
However, once we interact with people from other cultures, we sometimes find that these patterns of behaviour and communication do not produce the same effect. In fact, in some cultures they may form a negative impression.
This workshop aims to help participants understand the why and how of working across different cultures or in multicultural situations. These include doing business with people from another culture or working in a multi-cultural team. |
